Support Bernal at meeting with Chief Fong

SFPD Chief Heather Fong will present her budget proposal for the coming fiscal year to the Police Commission this Wednesday 2/14 at [time to be determined -- either 4:00 or 6:30] in Rm. 400 at City Hall. (Think of it as your Valentine to Bernal Heights)

Building on our very successful community meeting, our emails to the City, and our meeting with Chief Fong, Bernal neighbors need to turn out in force to push for:
  1. A continuation of the beat cop presence in the Alemany Development
  2. Increased staffing for Ingleside--critical to maintaining foot patrols on Cortland and on Mission.
These recent measures are helping combat our crime problems, but they are temporary and will go away if we don't support the Chief in requesting more funding.

Bring your neighbors and friends and show the City that we are organized and actively advocating for Bernal Heights. And if you can, please attend a prep meeting tomorrow, Monday 2/12, at 5:30pm at the Neighborhood Ctr, 515 Cortland.

Howdy! I just found your blog. I live in Bernal, too, and I like the variety of topics you're covering. I really want to subscribe but don't see an RSS feed. (Though you have Sitemeter, so..?)

Hi, I'm a member of the steering committee for the San Francisco Islands Community Association, out on Treasure Island and Yerba Buena Island, and I was wondering if you could put me in contact with any of the people in your neighborhood association. We're starting the process of formally organizing as a nonprofit, and I was wondering if you/they had any advice to could share. Have you been able to get 501(c)3 status, or 501(c)4? Could you share a copy of your bylaws? etc. Any pointers you could provide would be most appreciated.
