Friends of the Urban Forest come to Bernal

From a recent Friends of the Urban Forest email:
"... we get together to plant on Saturday, February 17th. But before then, we have to plan it out, and so we'll be having a community meeting to be held at your Neighborhood Organizer's Anil Dutt's home at 200 Andover Street, on the corner of Eugenia, on Monday, January 22nd at 6:30 p.m.

The hour-long meeting serves three purposes: 1) To acquaint you with the planting process, from present through planting day. 2) To introduce you to the list of tree species I recommend for your neighborhood. 3) To divide duties and find volunteers for small tasks; this is, after all, your planting, and we cannot plant without your help and support. There will be two separate slide shows to illustrate the process and the tree list.

The meeting is "mandatory." If you can't make the meeting, you can still take part in the planting, but you will lack the critical understanding of the event that your neighbors have. If you miss the meeting, it is up to you to follow through with all written directions to the letter, and though I am happy to help everyone select the best specie for them, you'll have to use a degree of self-reliance in researching your choice.....
